January 14th, 2009
According to the operator of one Internet gambling site, the people who tried their luck gambling on online casinos lose money twice as fast as their counterparts in a real-life, physical-world casino. In 2002, online gamblers were expected to lose some $3.5 billion. Every week about 2 million people visit any of the more than 1,800 virtual casinos and making it one of the Internet’s fastest-growing industries.
Online gambling is an industry that’s virtually free-for-all, because unlike real-world casinos in the United State, virtual casinos are operated offshore. Some credit companies even rejected the transactions between the customers and online casinos and the pressure was coming from the government. However, things get more serious when recent study shows that, almost 70% of teens age 13-17 said they had gambled at some point in their lives, despite the fact it is illegal for them.
So, although the online gambling is becoming popular day by day and the amount of people wasting the money behind online casino is immeasurable. Only the self awareness of the individual can solve this problem.
