Hampton Police Working Against Illegal machines

Last 3 April night and 4 April morning police raided around the state for illegal gambling machines in Hampton, Virginia. Law enforcing agencies arrested two individuals in conjunction with the raids. The two were Yvonne Worth, and Randy Allen. 52-year-old Allen was charged with conducting an illegal gambling operation, whereas 45-year-old Worth was charged with accessory to gambling.

Police in Hampton invested Movie Play on North King Street, Hampton Roads Billiard and Internet TimeĀ  early in March. Their investigation started as soon as authorities got complaints from the citizen. The video gambling machines were seized with the raids. The machines are like many that involved in some other raids in the state. Additionally, those are same as slot machines. So, in most cases gamblers could be paid out by collecting a ticket then carrying the ticket to the bartender.

Police talked to a number of the consumers at the locations that were raided. Gamblers who were playing the illegal machines possibly will be charged in the case under state law. Observer Mark Skenjile said “Police around the country are making it clear that the only casino gambling they want going on is in casinos,” he added, “with states legalizing casinos at a record pace, the state governments want to make sure all of the profits from gambling go to the legal casinos.”
