NCAA College Tourney Contest

ncaa college tourney contests NCAA College Tourney ContestAre you ready for March Madness?! I hope you have been paying attention to NCAA college basketball recently because you want to have a leg up on all the other people who fill their brackets out in a mad scramble to beat the 12:00 noon (Eastern Time) deadline on next Thursday, March 18.

Of course, nothing can actually be done until everything is set in stone this Sunday when the NCAA tournament brackets are filled. Most contests don’t open until 9:00PM on Sunday at the very earliest, but you can sign up and reserve your entry before then.

This year, it looks like the four tops seeds are going to be the four traditional college basketball powerhouses of Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse and Duke. Outside of one of the top Big 10 teams sneaking in, I don’t see any other real contenders for the national title this year (fans of K-State and Villanova may beg to differ).

March Madness Tournament Contest

You can usually find a ton of march madness contests around and you may just have a group of friends that you have a local pool with. These are all great options, but I would like to highlight one tournament that caught my interest.

BetJamaica is having a contest that starts at 9:00PM ET on Sunday March 14. It is called the Million Dollar Tourney Madness contest.

You must have you bracket submitted by tip-off of the first game. This means you have until Thursday morning, March 18 to select your picks and submit your entry.

Like many other tournaments that offer a million dollars or more, the $1 million dollar prize is not automatically awarded, but you must create and submit a perfect bracket in order to win this grand prize.

However, unlike a lot of other places there are a ton of prizes to be won, not just the first few lucky winners. The first place winner will receive $2,500 for creating the best bracket and receiving the highest score.

2nd place wins $2,000; 3rd place wins $1,500; 4th place wins $1,000; 5th place win $500; 6th – 10th place wins $250; 11th – 20th place wins $125. Other people who place in the top 300 will win cash prizes of $75, $50 and $25.

BetJamaica is also one of the only places to offer “near perfect” brackets with a large prize. If you guess 58 or more of the games correct, you will win a $20,000 prize. Guess 55 to 57 games correctly and you will win a $10,000 prize.

Here is how the points system works:

Correct 1st round picks will receive 10 points; 2nd round picks will receive 20 points each. Correct Sweet 16 picks will get 40 points; Elite 8 picks will get 80 points. Winning Final Four picks will get 140 points a piece and selecting the correct NCAA champion will get you 200 points.

Selecting the correct final four and championship winners is half of the battle. If you miss these, you can just about count yourself out of any prizes. If you get the two Final Four winners correct and the champion, you will receive 480 points for 3 games. Compare that to getting 320 points for getting the first 32 games correctly.

To be eligible to participate in this contest, you must be at least 18 years old and have a BetJamaica account. If you do not have an account, you can sign up here.

You must also make a minimum of $25 in wagers on any game during the contest to be eligible to win. Check this out if you are looking for a great march madness promotion.
